The DeWitt Operahouse Theatre is honored to be a recipient during this important event. \n\nTo celebrate Great Give Day we have a day packed with events including prizes\, free classic movies and more! \n\n\n\nWHAT IS THE OPERAHOUSE?\n\nIt's hard to find someone in the community who doesn't have a fond memory of the Operahouse - first movie\, performing in a play\, attending a travelogue\, watching a dance recital.\n\n\n\nThe DeWitt Operahouse Theatre has been providing entertainment to DeWitt and surrounding communities continuously since 1878. It is best known for showing current movies at affordable prices. The Operahouse is a venue for several private and community events. The original stage is still used as a performance space for local musicians and entertainers. We are also home to the First Central State Bank Gallery which showcases local artists work throughout the year. \n\n\n\nWHY IS YOUR DONATION IMPORTANT?\n\nThe DeWitt Operahouse Theatre is overseen by The DeWitt Theater Company\, Inc.\, a nonprofit organization with a local board of directors. While income from ticket sales and concessions pay for day-to-day operating expenses and employee wages\, the endowment fund is essential in the upkeep and continuing operation of the 140-year-old building. It also helps keep ticket prices and concessions affordable.\n\n\n\nIt's hard to imagine our community without the Operahouse. By making a donation of $10 or more to the Operahouse on Great Give Day you will ensure that never happens.
