The Second Annual PrairieFest will be September 24 at Wheatland's Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat.
PrairieFest, a free outdoor music festival, will return to Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat on September 24 from 1 to 5 p.m. New this year, there will be music inside the retreat center in addition to the outdoor stage, with multiple acts appearing throughout the afternoon in both locations.
Performers of many different genres of music, including pop, bluegrass, gospel, country, folk and soul will be showcased. Scheduled performers include Robert Dahms & and Jordan Danielsen, Strings & Harmony with Troy Troftgruben and friends, Angela Meyer, cowboy Poet Dean Marten, The Barley House Band, Jen Craft, Donovan Gustofson, Jim Cook and more. The outdoor stage features a grass area for blankets and lawn chairs.
In addition to music, there will be opportunities to tour the beautiful prairie grounds, which include a labyrinth, gardens, Cosmic Walk, nature pond, prairie timber and trails. Snacks will be available; however, attendees can also bring food and drinks. The Prairie Retreat is located at 2664 145th Avenue, south of Wheatland,, Iowa.
