Learn all the basics of water bath canning and salsa making at a Food Preservation Workshop on Friday, August 1 at 3pm. The workshop, offered at the DeWitt Community Center, is part of the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Preserve the Taste of Summer program. Vera Stokes, a health and human sciences educator with ISU Extension and Outreach, will lead the workshop.
During the hands-on workshop, participants will:
· Learn the basics of water bath canning,
· Hear the most up-to-date canning and salsa making recommendations,
· Make and can salsa, and
· Take home and enjoy a jar of salsa that they canned.
Your cost for this hands-on workshop is only $25, thanks to support from the Clinton County Extension Council. (Regular registration fee is $50.)
