The Central DeWitt Community School District is pleased to announce that, beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, it will offer on-site childcare services for students in Pre-K through 3rd grade. This new program will provide high-quality care before and after the school day, as well as on select non-school days—offering valuable support and flexibility to working parents and guardians.
Registration for the upcoming school year opens on Tuesday, July 15. A registration link will be emailed to families of PK–3rd grade students and shared on the district’s social media channels that morning. As space is limited, families are encouraged to register early. Pending school board approval, program fees will be as outlined in this document: https://bit.ly/4lpopN5.
As part of the program’s development, the district invited families, staff, and community members to participate in a naming contest. After reviewing dozens of creative submissions, three finalists were selected and shared in a public vote. With 51% of the vote, Saber Cubs Care was selected as the official name. The winning submission was provided by Ashton Trimble.
In preparation for the program’s launch, the district is also in the process of hiring dedicated staff members to support the Saber Cubs Care program. Individuals who are caring, energetic, and passionate about working with young children are encouraged to apply online at https://phlaptweb36.applitrack.com/CDCSD/onlineapp. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new district initiative and make a lasting impact on the Saber community.
