Role Summary

This position is responsible for music during worship at First Congregational United Church of Christ (DeWitt, IA). 

Key Responsibilities

• Accompany the congregation in singing during worship services.

• With the pastor, select music for worship services, providing a mix of music that the congregation is familiar with and music that is new to the congregation.

• Create opportunities and recruit musicians for special music and other performances.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communications skills.

• Proven ability to manage projects from beginning to end.

• Organized and able to manage multiple projects at once.

• Ability to play one or more accompanying instruments (organ, piano, guitar, etc.).

• Familiarity with Christian hymnody.

Schedule

Every Sunday, plus other days for special worship services, funerals, etc.

Pay Information

$150 per service, with funerals and weddings generally paid at higher rates.
