Job Description

 

This posting is ongoing to collect a pool of applicants for when a vacancies open up.

This position will teach an introduction to the Criminal Justice system: police, courts, corrections, the role of the Criminal Justice system in society and recommendations for reform. Discussion will include career opportunities.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Minimum qualifications: Master's in Criminal Justice or any master's degree with 12 GSH in Criminal Justice or Law and additional 6 graduate hours in a combination of Criminal Justice, Law, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology.

Physical Demands

 

Face to face teaching

Sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time. This is partially a sedentary classification although standing in and walking between work areas is required.

 

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

 

Responsible for teaching criminal justice courses and assessing learning outcomes in this area of instruction. Assignments may include alternative delivery methods, evening courses, and multiple sites. Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service. Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.

Part-Time, can be somewhat flexible. Hiring for adjuncts is ongoing and would serve by term. A term is 16 weeks.
